Sources
Where facts come from
Factual statements about Indianapolis rules, utilities and history are drawn from primary or reputable public sources: Citizens Energy Group for lateral ownership, permits and the DigIndy program; Indiana 811 for locate requirements; the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency for plumbing licensing; the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for sewer overflows and flood cleanup; and the Encyclopedia of Indianapolis and Wikipedia for neighborhood history and general technical background. Pages list their sources and mark claims with numbered citations.
Technical explanations of methods such as lining, bursting and jetting describe how the methods generally work. They are not instructions for doing the work yourself, and they do not replace an inspection of your own line.
Standards
What every page must meet
- Written in our own words, not copied from sources or other sites.
- No invented business facts: no fake phone numbers, addresses, licenses, reviews, ratings or response-time promises.
- Repair advice is framed around the pipe's condition, the household's safety and the permit rules.
- Clear disclosure that this is a referral service and contractors are independent.
- Images are illustrative and labeled as such where they could be mistaken for a specific job.
Review
How pages are reviewed and updated
Pages are checked against their sources when they are written and again when rules or programs change, for example if Citizens Energy Group updates its lateral permit process. The date a page was last meaningfully changed is recorded in its structured data. Small wording fixes do not change that date.
